SSE Gunnar Hedlund Award Update

After several days filled with emotions in Madrid I can proudly announce: I received the Stockholm School of Economics' Gunnar Hedlund Award for the best PhD thesis in international business in the years 2018-21 for my thesis "Fat Cats? A Case for the Swedish Managers' Making Sense of the Developing Markets".

The Award, which is decided by a jury of leading scholars in international business from around the globe, promotes the work that in the opinion of the jury has the greatest potential on the field of international business in the future and puts emphasis on intellectual boldness, creativity and originality.

After giving a presentation on Sunday afternoon at the 47th Annual Conference of the European International Business Academy at Complutense University of Madrid, the chair of the jury, Professor Udo Zander presented the prize to me at the gala dinner at Hotel Ríu Madrid Plaza de España.

Many thanks to the jury for this recognition and to everyone supporting me along the way, especially my supervisors Katarina Blomkvist, Philip Kappen, and Ivo Zander. And huuuge kudos to my co-finalists: Vera Kunczer of WU Wien and Johannes Kleinhempel of Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
